The in-situ gel framework has developed as outstanding novel drug delivery systems; it can be utilized for sustained and controlled release of the drugs having its own special characteristic feature of ‘Sol to Gel’ transition. In the in-situ gel system formulation is mostly available in the solution form before enter into body but it will change into gel form also depending on the physiological changes. There are some polymer used in-situ gel system and same polymer also used in other novel drug delivery system also. This review mainly focus on introduction of in-situ gel system, its mechanism, different polymer used in this system, important evaluation parameter and it also focuses on the pharmaceutical applications of in-situ gel related with novel drug delivery systems.
